Been working on some Susquehanna yellow jacket power for my layout. I bought one engine already beautifully painted, just had to do some upgrades under the hood prior to layout duty. She is a Hallmark GP18, with spark arrestors, speed recorder on lead truck, Prime beacon on roof, Grand Line power pickup assemblies to give 8 wheel pickup, upgraded drive shafts from motor to trucks and soon it will get a can motor. Picked her up from Howie's brass out in Pennsylvania, I can highly recommend Howie's, excellent prices, excellent website. In the next group of pics, is a Tenshodo GP20 that I got real cheap off fleabay. She got a can motor, hobbytown drive shaft from motor to gear tower, stripped of the old NYC paint job and is going to be a yellow jacket when completed. I also picked up a Susquehanna caboose, Greenway custom paint on a Athearn blue box, and a Bev-Bel custom Athearn 4 bay hopper. Cheers Mike

That's beautiful, Mike. I had asked recently if anyone had painted a Tyco GP20 in Susie Q colors, but this is a lot nicer.

I am sure someone, somewhere has done a tyco GP20 into NYS&W yellow jacket colors. Before Likelike proto 2K it was Tyco or brass. Granted, Susquehanna didnt get any GP20's till they took control of the TP&W. The trio on the SusieQ were GP18's instead, basicly a GP20 without the turbocharger and lacking the smaller cooling fan ahead of the large fan at the rear of the long hood. I got the frame striping done on my GP20. I need to get a can of white primer to prime up the shell and get started on painting it. Thank you for the complement. Mike

Cadet, that's awesome! Looks like something a model railroad manufacturer would make today.

"A lot of modellers out there who go to these train shows see broken HO stuff and go, 'This is useless' when, in reality, they can still be used for modeling whether it's as a prop on your layout or a cool project to make something old new again."
