I completed these American GK E60CP kits this week. Two are Amtrak #960 and #968. The other one was an Amtrak #968 sold to NJ Transit and sporting the NJ Transit lettering with the Amtrak paint scheme. The other is an NJ Transit E60CP that I restored earlier in the year. All of the E60CP's have 2mm Dual LED's that are directional.

The trickiest part of the build was removing the "Amtrak" from the sides of the shell without destroying the paint. I managed to do this with a Q+Tip and 70% rubbing alcohol. Also have a wet rag with some mild liquid soap on it, In a few seconds the alohol will disolve the lettering and wipe it off quickly with the soapy rag, then dry. The NJT Disco stripes are Microscale NJT passenger car and the NJ Transit is from the Mircoscale NJT F40PH Diesel set. I coated the decals/silver part of the shell with a mix of Testor's GLoss 67% Dullcoat 33% to create a Satin finish matching the original Am GK finish......

I was thinking the same thing. But honestly, most railroads, especially those from the last 30 or 40 years have done something very similar to this sort of stuff so this isn't as surprising as it could've been. At least to me.

You over estimate NJ Transit.... They used MU's from the 1920's until 1983. Still with the original paint on them and the original wicker seats. That is why I posted the original pics. These E60's were later scrapped, except for one that went to a railroad museum.
Larger font will prevent my spelling mistakes in the future.

That was the "Edison" cars on the Peapack/Gladstone line. Not because he designed them, but because he was there for the dedication when they were put into service. And yes, it may sound strange to some, but they maintained their wicker seats (none of that new fangled plastic stuff) right to the end.
I rode on their last day of service!
