Anyone have any of these?
Did they sell other types than this?
Just wondering.
Evan

PS If you are noticing a theme in some of my stuff, I have lots of one previous owners locos.
He seemed to have buckets of green and gold paint.

Maybe he was some sort of leprechaun model train collector because the colors definitely fit that!Just joking. He did do a pretty good job at painting those locos, though.

What is it? Can you show a close up of that motor, please?
Charmerz is the brand? Never heard of such.

I've never heard of Charmez before you posted this.I did a bit of research and found an ad for them from November of 1971.

Apparently they were a distributor of German (or French?) models to the US similar to companies like AHM and IHC. Very interesting find there, PGE.

Charmerz were also by Playart. I don't know if they promoted that link or not. But if you pull the item out of the box, it usually has Playart stamped on the bottom. The rolling stock does, not sure about the engines. Yes, there is a Conrail F7 loco, they also did a high speed Japanese train, the Shinkansen bullet-nosed train. They did steam engines, but those are prone to bucking, not very good runners at all. They copied Lima products, and they also produced a triple axle tank car EXACTLY like Tyco's version. I've looked at them side by side, and they're near identical, except for the name molded in the bottom. l
Anyway, if you search on HO Playart, you will find more trains that way than by using Charmerz, because that name was only on the box, Playart is what is stamped into the plastic on the train cars. And most train pieces have the box missing.

Yup, like that, and in case you have double vision, you can read it twice.

The Charmerz FA is Mehano, with a vertical can motor instead of the big open frame. A prior owner has taken some broad artistic license with a paint brush.

Definitely a Mehano product.
The Playart F-unit I have has a Kader/Bachmann sniff to it.

All of Charmerz' freight cars, at least to start, were just copies of Roco toolings, with a few exceptions like the AHM ore car, Tyco 6-axle tanker and what looks like the Mantua 40' gondola. Eventually they stopped just cloning Roco cars and marketed under the Playart name that they had already been using on their toy cars.

I've got 4 playart cars: Citroen CX, Corvette, a red forklift and something else; and 2 playart freight cars: an N&W 3-bay 100T hopper, and a Conrail 40' boxcar (with Charmerz box) that I'm trying to remove someone's sharpie-marker weathering from.

Here's a few of my other Playart engines. I have more packed away in the basement, but I can't get to them right now. sigh. Anyway, here's 3 of them, marked Playart on the bottoms.

You would not believe how many times I've seen those things at train shows. Not a ton but I see at least one of those at nearly every train show I go to. Also, Model Power also made all three of those locos you have there in a couple different liveries at least. Heck, I think Model Power still made at least one of them when they went bankrupt earlier this year.

Not to mention they look hideous and utterly bizarre. And when they run, they don't very well.
