Today I finished a PRR L1 2-8-2 Built from a Bachman K4 boiler, cylinders, trailing truck and tender, a Mehano 2-8-2 chassis, a Tyco 2-8-0 pilot and a lot of scratch-built parts.

It's interesting how something pieced together from three different sources can come out looking like one seamless design. Nice job of blending!

Looks awesome! It's hard to tell it's actually a kitbash and that's a complement.

Really nice work Ray. I like how you moved the sand dome forward. The mounting pillar is clever. Well done.

What a beauty, Ray.
Now I can finally see it (the photos section on the Yahoo group kept giving me errors.) Three different manufacturers... that's an amazing amount of work. The only linkage that doesn't look hand made is the connecting rods.

I was having trouble posting them to Yahoo also, not sure what was going on. quote: The only linkage that doesn't look hand made is the connecting rods.

Yes, all the other valve gear parts were either scratch built or modified. The main rod is a lengthened Bowser and the crosshead is modified Bachmann. I hope to be posting more. I am doing more HO projects now that my N scale layout is operational.
