Nice set there, Ben! Guess you got'em all now. :) Clowning around a bit, I picked up this Life-Life circus car last week when heading up to PA to visit a friend. Still in the box.

Nice COTW so far guys. I've got my COTW up which is going to follow the apparent theme for this week. It's an H0 scale tanker car that came with my first model train set that I got in 2004.

Life-Like offered several circus pieces as shown in my 1975 catalog... I had a circus flat on my 70s layout. It's one of only 3 or 4 train cars that I still wanna buy...

Former SF, now PC. Fantasy paint scheme. These pieces date back to the turn of the last century. I was fiddling with Tyco, on the verge of the Slippery Slope, painted during my "gotta be realistic phase." That, like the rest of my self control, went down the slope as the Tyco infection grew, like some out-of-control weed, like honey suckle vine.

Now, if only I could obtain the o.o.stock, Model Power version!

I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Nice custom, Chops! That looks almost as convincing as an H0 scale Athearn custom Alaska Railroad diesel I have looks.

I know a member in my train group who has a car like that. Very convenient in my opinion.

AAAAARGH I simply CANNOT find the red one and it is my favorite paint scheme I've seen on a 40' box!!! So jealous!!!
And both are Athearn, silly. Yellow is 60's with metal trucks and separate door tracks (not sure if this is actually a bev-bel, I have this one somewhere), red is just a newer one with the door tracks people are used to.

Not surprised their both Athearns to be honest. They both look too good to be Model Power.

I was the only bidder. The seller did not ship it right away. I emailed him four days after the purchase and he said sorry he was late, he had to go to the emergency room. He would put in the mail the next day if I stilled wanted it or he could refund my money. I said I still wanted it, put in the mail. Iit was another 2 days before he shipped it.

Pretty ironic that they put friction bearing trucks on a Timken roller bearing car. Athearn probably hadn't tooled roller bearing trucks yet.

Those Bettendorfs have been retrofitted with roller bearings; you just can't see them for the journal covers!

My boxcar is basically an Athearn, but it was marketed under a different name (can't remember at the moment--need to dig out the box).
