My SOTW is an old Marx survivor that I found a few years ago in a box at an antique store.

Ah, Marx. The Lionel for poor people. At least I think that's what they are. Nothing wrong with that! Good set though!

I don't think Marx ever had any aspirations to be a great model maker, they were building fun toys for kids I like the look of the set, well used from plenty of play time. Of course there are dedicated Marx collectors out there, I browsed some of their sites and they get pretty in-depth (kind of like GIC). Nothing in this set that's particularly rare.

I know that very well. I've seen all of this set's contents at trains shows at least once or twice at every train show I've been too so far.

Nice set, and a fabulous piece of wall art for the train room!

Cool Jerry. I have one O gauge Lionel tank car that I bought by mistake; I don't know how I thought it was standard gauge . . . must be that's why it was such a bargain! It's all beat up, but then I think about how some real tank cars of that age look just sittin' around rusting in the yard with grass growing up pretty tall between the cars.

I has a bunch of Marx trains Even the loco with the missing side rod & wheel actually WORKS! I always thought that Marx trains were like EU or UK type of cars Since they all only had 4 wheels instead of the usual 8 Marx later went to plastic in the final years
But I still don't want my Marx trains Dedicated collectors eh, JNXT? Well couple me up to them!
