My COTW is a pair of 40' boxcars I picked up yesterday - a Bachmann Penn Central and an old Roundhouse Burlington Northern with a metal chassis.

So, last Wednesday I come home from a sixteen hour day, and I find this box and open it. Inside is one of the Tyco pieces on my "bucket" list- a gift from a Boston and Albany collector, by the name of Leo, whom I met in the Trading Post. This sweet, shining piece rolled my socks down!

Get enough Jello on any slope and it'll certainly be slippery.

That is the coolest ride I've yet seen. Commodore Vanderbilt of NYC had a private train like that: a grand old 1880's American Type pulling a single Pullman coach. Photographed in front of a New York City resteraunt, where it had "pulled up." On the oil fueled headlamp it had his (Vanderbilt's) picture painted on the side. Git 'er done, Bob!

Whoever made that did a marvelous job on it. You can't even tell it's a custom unless you do some research and find that they never made those.Really, it looks that good.

I've seen one of those in the box along with the engine, both in decent condition for $30 at a train show one time. It was gone when I came back to that table.

I have it being pulled by a TYCO 0-4-0 in the picture that he also did...a fine running beast that he modified with better pickups. I normally pull it with an AHM 4-4-0 Genoa with a Pocher Lincoln funeral car, making for a pretty boss looking lineup in the yard...

While rooting through my boxes of train "stuff" today I came across this box of 2 street cars. No manufacturers name or anything, just marked "Made in China". Neither one is motorized.

I bet you some poor fellow back in the day those were made bought them thinking that they were running H0 scale locomotives when in fact it's just a dummy.

Part of a promotion given out by Reader's Digest in the 90s...they are based on Bachmann offerings and can be modified easily to fit their perspective mechanisms...

Well then... I have a mint-in-box pair, minus the handrails and box cellophane from the engine, that need a home. There's a bunch of other stuff in the box too though, could anyone tell me what originally came in a golden eagle set? I'm not much of a Tyco-head myself

I would never imagine them commanding such high prices. I got the caboose and engine for 40 and they were/ are in like new condition. I always thought about selling the set but never go thru with it. Like them too much.

I like that Roundhouse car, Adams - especially the window treatments on them. I'm going to look for one for my steam train.
