Hello,
Athearn's high-end Genesis series of ready-to-run models will add the F-45 and FP-45 in 2007. Both HO- and N-Scale examples have been announced.
Athearn previously offered the F-45 and FP-45 among its standard "blue box kits" since the early 1970s.
The Genesis model has been announced as being all-new tooling and should be provide truly great examples of these big EMD cowled diesels.
The FP-45 was owned originally by only the Santa Fe and Milwuakee Road with only 15 examples produced in the late '60s. The F-45 production totalled 86 examples and went originally to Santa Fe, Great Northern, and Burlington Northern bewteen 1968 and 1971. Production info taken from Wikipedia.com.
Previous HO-Scale FP-45s include the Lima and AHM models. The AHM model was also found in the Like-Like, Model Power, and recently IHC product lines with various minor changes/modifications.
Here's the AHM FP-45 dressed for Pennsy service...
