Over the past few years I have removed these trucks from old freight cars, now can't remember what manufacturer they were. They are fully sprung, have plastic wheels. Truck frames are metal and the horn-hook couplers are secured more or less permanently by "crimps" in the metal frame.

Vince sorry but I sold those a couple days later. Next time I come across some I'll post them here.

The couplers could easily be replaced with Kadees. File down the "crimps" and remove the box cover and the horn hooks, drill a hole in the top and tap it for the Kadee screw and install the Kadee coupler and Kadee cover.

They're nice trucks, especially being sprung - but I gave them a push around my track checking them out and although the flanges aren't overly deep they bounced over my turnouts. I put a gauge on the wheels and although the wheels and axles are cast in one piece, they are out of gauge (too narrow) and there is no way to adjust them. I suppose you could replace the wheelsets but did not seem worth the effort, unless you're trying to keep a Revell car as close to original as possible.

Thanks for keeping me in mind Jerry. What I do is cut off the coupler perch and replace the wheels with N/S RP-25 wheels and axles. I body mount the couplers.

THat's a lot of effort to ruin the Revell parts when there are plenty of trucks one could just outright replace them with.

Yeah, usually when I do a conversion on a car with talgo trucks, I just drop in Athearn trucks, body-mount a pair of kadee #14's, and chuck the talgo trucks unless they're older metal ones like these, which I save in a box.

Kadee #14 is a bulk pack of the #148 couplers, correct?

And I used to chuck all that old stuff - until I discovered there is someone on ebay that will buy it. Old talgo trucks, old wheelsets, old couplers, etc.
