Does anyone know where to find replacement bulbs for the 1957 Ideal/American Flyer bridges?

I believe the bulbs are the same as the ones that go to the double oil storage towers, also.

They are round. Attached is a photo.

Thanks,
Mark

Not sure on the bulb, but you can make clear ones red with some Testors Candy Apple Red spray paint.

Really? The paint doesn't burn off?

Interesting. I may have to give that a try if I get desperate. These bulbs aren't solid red, they are translucent.

Thanks!

I have a row of these bridges, and they all have the same round bulb on top, so I'd like to keep them all looking the same.

I might have to wind up replacing them all eventually, but I like the look of the originals.

On one bridge, I actually used the old blown-out bulb, and broke off the base and put it over a grain of wheat bulb. Looks decent.

I've even used the paint trick on 1157 type car bulbs, I had one with green turn signals - green bulbs behind clear lenses - for a number of years.

That is where I got the picture from!

I tried to buy this bulb, but got a message that the bidder is not accepting bids on them! So I tried to contact the seller, and got a message that the seller is not accepting communication!

Replace all Bulbs in all Bridges with new panel mount assembles as per drawing.

1>Find 12v panel mount assemblies that will fit hole in Bridge house.
2>Use existing bulb wires from bulbs and connect to new assemblies
3>Mount the assembly with panel nut or glue. RTV in case they have to be removed
4>Insert new Bulb or LED.
5>Stock extra bulbs/LEDs that will fit new assemblies.
6>Use LED Assemblies if possible. LED can be as bright or brighter than bulb.
