An Proto 1000 powered Southern F3 A/B pair, with a pair of Athearn F7s to make a A/B/B/A set to pull my Crescent consist. I will repeat what has been said before, these P1K F3s are fine runners, and about the best I have.

Here's my LOTW. An old Athearn custom painted Alaskan Railroad GP35. I got it at a train show last year for $20. Looks great and runs great.

1970's kit built Pacific pulling string of vintage Life Like Circus Cars up 2% grade. Same grade that fried my vintage Athearn last week. Today at El Paso Model Railroad Club. The Pacific was built by one of the club's founding members back in the day, and is in frequent use 44 years later, has never had a tune up that I know of.

Those are neat little locomotives, as they come, and they make a good starting point for detailing projects, as well.

Jerry, the colors in the shot of that Southern, and the depot just blow me away. So clean. I dig that. It is refreshing to see something that isn't "weathered" all to heck. And . . . I think that could reflect reality . . . just a 5 Star Railway with good management, hey?

Ben, They were produced/imported by Kemtron and some had Lindsay drives. Pictured here is one with the Lindsay Teaspoon of Power drive and the other with an all brass japan made mechanism. The Lindsay drive is in the painted version.

I remember seeing your post on the brass Toonerville trolley way back when I wasn't a member of this forum around the time I discovered it.

Here's one of my latest projects started from a Rail Power GP35. It's a GP28 built for my freelanced modern Pacific Electric.
Modeling the Modern Pacific Electric, freight operations in HO scale.

Very cool! I did the same thing with a Rail-Power shell and built a GP-28 for the LC&P about 20 years ago. Here it is in the company of some friends from to Mopac and C&EI
