My LOTW is a Bachmann Plasser EM80C. I might've already posted this loco in the LOTW thread. Maybe not. Whatever the case, here's the photo.

Nice F-3 Metal Smith. I have 3 AB set ups in Pennsy, WP and UP.
Here is another of my ATSF passenger locos. An Athearn RTR AB set.

Here is a fantasy bash that resulted from parts of 5 different locos. The DDF7 - being an unpowered dummy - needed some motive power and so a "fuel tender" was conceived from an Athearn F7B with the old dual gear, brass wheeled power trucks and a Proto 1000 motor. It raises a clatter like the world is ending when she's comin' round the mountain with a coal drag, but it pulls pretty well - even without flywheels. John (JRG), I took your advice and yanked the steam generator from the DDF7, replacing it with a second dynamic brake. Also added some more ventilation grilles to give it that "Look of Power" The walkway on top of the tender was cut from a Bachmann 89' auto loader. I had put handrails on it, but in the end didn't like the look because they were on long stanchions and too high.

Dig the fuel tender, it really compliments the stretch F-unit. F was EMD parlance for 5000 indicating the combined horsepower of an A-B-B-A set of FT's and E was used to indicate 1800hp for E-units that used twin 900hp powerplants. The single engine F-Unit was rated at 1350hp and two of those would equal 2700hp, perhaps you could call it a T-Unit for 2700hp. I like TDD-7

That's one cool retrospective on those great days of gas turbine locomotives, DD40's, and two engine E units. Viva big engines and big power!

Jerry, Your F7 is not as far fetched as one might think. The FT units were really an E unit concept with 16 cylinder engines and 8 motors. The original FT AB units were draw bar linked and the B units carried no batteries. They were in fact conceived as a single 2700 HP locomotive that would bent in the middle.
Steven, I have always liked the Santa Fe Cat Winkers scheme. I have an ABBA set of FTs with P1000 F3 Drives in the A units. The B units bodies were an off brand from Walthers on Shortened Athearn Dummy F7 frames. They are good runners. I have replaced some split axle gears from time to time, no big deal.

I picked up the F-3 for $24.00 and it runs as good as locos for triple that price. It is straight DC but that is fine for my layout.

Man that's cheap for a loco like that, especially if it's smooth as heck.

I've seen some of those Bugs Bunny cartoon in school one time. My gosh their funny in a way modern cartoons are not. Watching them make me wonder "Why aren't modern cartoons like this? This is awesome!" and the answer is two words: Worried parents.

Hi All,
Here are a set of red box F units that my Wife picked up for me on Saturday. I love these and they have been on my want list for years. The engine on the right is non powered and the left engine is dual powered. Just need to replace the coupler on the powered unit, otherwise all steps and couplers are intact.
Thanks for looking.

Praying I haven't fouled the nest again. This a Bachmann EC60 hauling a Tyco string of Amtrak, several traded to me by Shaygetz. Shaygetz: here are your sweeties sweetly rolling down the three track mainline at El Paso Model Rail Club today. Hope you are enjoying the vintage Athearn Flat and the hopper cars for your gremlins! Great trading with you. I may have a few more unusual items for trade or for sale that turned up recently in a donation to the club: a Tyco sound car that takes a nine volt battery in pristine condition, for starters... Chops
