Vintage Mantua hauling the Jellomania consist. She groans and rumbles, but pulls like the devil. The PC never painted up its locomotives in asylum green, for that matter did not own any GP 20's, from what I know, but what a look! The PC logo was sometimes referred as the "worms in love." A fairly small number, maybe 16 to 20 SD units received the red and white worms in love treatment. The Jello car is Tyco. Taken last week at the El Paso Model Train Club.

Actually PC had 13 GP20 units on their roster which were originally owned by the New York Central. The PC units carried numbers 2100-2112, and just like the Tyco model they did not have dynamic brakes. PC eventually removed the turbo chargers from their GP20s and replaced them with paper air filters. NOTE: The number that the Tyco unit has belongs to PC GP7

Nelson, this is an older thread someone else reactivated. Don't beat up on Chops again for it!

Same with me.

I've got a GP20 similar to that one by Tyco, listed as a Mantua but it's got red in the PC logo. It doesn't run at all (but I didn't know how to fix these back then). Any idea how I could get handrails similar to that (it has none)?
I no long mind a loud runner, but if she pulls good that would be spectacular. Anyone grip turning a GP20 into an RS1325?

Handrails: unless you can find a spare set in a plastic sleeve on evilBay or at a show, I'd suggest finding some stanchions (or asking for some on the trading post, many of us probably have some spares) and bending your own handrails to fit. This is not an easy task, and might not come out the first time or two, but it's worth practicing, as my switchers can attest
Fixing the drive: Go ask about that in the Tyco Motive Power section. I can't help with that.
Turning it into an RS1325: have fun with that... no, seriously, it would probably be a lot of fun, I just wouldn't have the guts! Start by getting an old Athearn SW7/SW1500 shell somewhere.
Now let's everyone stop posting on this thread. It doesn't belong here. Grumble grumble

These make a good starting point for the CI&M RS 1325s. I have done two of them thus far. The hardest part is stretching the Athearn chassis. I used sheet brass and super glue to accomplish this on mine.
