swapped a box load of non working modern locos for this tenshodo Great Northern 0-8-0 Class C-1,ken
 cannot wait for it to arrive this one will be coming in about 4 weeks if not sooner PFM/United Great Northern H5 Pacific No 1364

I'm not sure that bell is meant to have a rope. There's what looks like a pneumatic line running to it. It may represent an air-powered bell like the one in this picture:
 This bell is on a Frisco Russian Decapod at the Illinois Railway Museum. Sorry for the grainy picture. It's cropped from a photo of the entire engine. I have seen it in person, though, and there's a little cylinder with a plunger popping up and down. That moves a linkage to ring the bell. I don't recall there even being a rope.

Those are nice engines. I've seen locos very similar to that at my local hobby shop.
