I'm sure I will. I've always been blown away by what you guys can do with these old engines.

Needs a bigger Varney tender, though, that one's for the Casey Jones/Old Lady.

Yes I know! it arrived with a Vanderbilt tender! but I don´t want this tender behind the Berkshire! The USRA Tender looks better to me, the shorter tender gives the engine a different look I think! - Erich

Erick, I think the original way that locomotive came way back when is with a brass tender. You know how would know is Sean. He probably has a original tender. I'm going to PM him. frank

Varney made a stamped brass tender using the same frame/trucks as the Vandy in a couple of variants.

Erick * I have seen pictures of the Mikado and the Pacific. They seen to have the same tender as the early mikado. There should be tenders out there somewhere. The tender trucks on the early brass tender matches the look of the berkshire rear truck. This will give you the look you are looking for. The die cast tender was how it came at the end of its production run. ** Pictures are from HOseeker. Frank

I like what Erich did with the Berkshire better than how it really looked. It'll definitely look better after he paints it though.

The last two Varney Berkshire kits (2950K & 200K) issused from 1962 thru 1968 came with a plastic Long Distance tender, kit #2704. The Berkshire with the plastic Long Distance tender also came in a reay-to-run version decorated for the PRR.

That tender looks much better with that engine than the previous tender. That one just looked a little too small.

Looks like a match made in Heaven! The bulk of the engine and tender seem to match in an artistic balance sense. Beside that, one tends to think of Berkshires pulling long trains far and fast. It takes a big tender to supply the fuel and water for that sustained effort.

That is one bruiser of a locomotive. I agree that the long haul tender looks better and seems much more appropriate.
