Here are some images of the boom car that I recently completed to go along with the Athearn 200 ton crane I am also working on in GN colors:

This model started life as a swap meet built kit Athearn work caboose. The fellow who owned it must have been a real old-timer, as he had some "loose" brass rail pieces attached tothe flat car deck. The images don't show it (and I am not yet capable of "night" photography), but the car- as described in previous postings- is lit with LEDs for dual directional lighting in the caboose cabin. It has Kadee#5's and IM wheels, as well as additional track weight, which helps with the wiper power feed from both trucks. Windows are glassed-in with plastic and I sealed the cabin and cupola with Liquid electrical Tape (plastic coating) to prevent any light leakage. The dulux gold GN lettering comes off empire builder decals from Microscale, but the black caboose cabin lettering I made from my own decal paper- after finding free "empire font" online!
Back to work on the main crane part of this project.

Ron,
Very nice work! High marks on the paint scheme and the deck's weathering. Looking forward to seeing photos of it with the LEDs on.
Be creative, share and enjoy the hobby :-)
