In the Ugottabekiddinme catagory, I got to work today, and my boss is acting like a kid at Christmas. He had worked out a deal with some of those guys who clean out homes ( Junk removal, Inc. basically ) and today it paid off. THey brought him a collection of Post-war Lionel stuff, absolutely MINT, that would make any collector drool. And he gave them $185 for it all. He figures he can clear 3,000 on it. Milk car with RARE yellow milk cans, helicopter car with dual rotor version, aquarium car, missile car, among others. Rare engines? How about white NH F7 diesels? An A-B pair, which typically sell for $200 each it seems. He has the boxes for them, if he'd gotten the Master Box, he could have gotten a couple GRAND alone for the set. WOW . And someone was just going to throw them all away, luckily the clean-out guys know to save that stuff, they had been taking it to an auction house , but apparently not getting as much as they got from my Boss, he said they were surprised at how much he offered them for the stuff. Dang, what a deal. Unbelievable. And I mean this stuff was M-I-N-T, no rust, all clean and unused for the most part. Just fabulous grab the boss got. Well, I can't complain, I got a few good deals through Craigslist, one with the foreign HO and some rare accessories a few years ago, for $75, I can't complain on that count. He really wanted to keep the milkcar himself, but needing the money, he's going to sell the car and rare colored cans together, he figures $200 for the car. I'll try to get some pictures when he puts the stuff out to sell.
