Tokyo Japan All Metal Steam Engine?
Sunday, January 05, 2014

Any help identifying this steam engine would be appreciated. I believe it belonged to my grandfather. It runs pretty good after dismantling, cleaning and lubing. But I'd just like to know more about it.

Aristo-Craft Rogers 2-6-0. Should be a matching tender somewhere. You can check their old catalogs at the HO Seeker page (link at bottom of main forum page).

I've got the same one that looks in about as sad shape, no tender here either. Wonder if anyone has spare tenders? Keep an eye out at shows, you never know what will pop up in bins of steam loco junk (old boilers, frames, and shells).

It is in sad shape BUT I love it because it was my grandfather's. Even better now that I got it up and running again. At least now I know the brand and model so I know what to look for.

Art; a lot of people here in Tyco forum have spent a lot of time preparing photos and posting them here, with info about the item. They have placed them in the appropriate tyco forum topics. Search All Forums/other great HO trains/all the others not mentioned, them read through the topics till you fine ones on Aristo-Craft or new one trains and a world of information will be revealed to you. With many photos. You can learn a lot about that engine of yours right here in the Tyco Forum.
Or you can continue to ask for help.
I first will work. The second might work. Good luck in your search.

I had one of those, "back in the day". Unfortunately, it is long gone, and my efforts have been confined to empty searches and losing Ebay auctions. I did manage to snag an 0-6-0 tank engine a couple of months ago, but I'm still looking for the 2-6-0
