If you Google "Lincoln Graphics Cherry Hill" and see their website, you get an address of "1111 S Union Ave, Cherry Hill NJ 08002." This maps to a place that looks like a print shop on Street View. It doesn't look like a very big facility, so I imagine these cars were part of a very short run of custom cars. This should be a rare specimen.
IF you just look at Cherry Hill NJ, it will probably take you to some sort of geographic centroid for the town or zip code. That's probably where the place that looked like a church was.

Jerry, I've seen a picture of a Roundhouse center cupola caboose printed on an old box, but your photo is the first I've ever seen of anyone really having one. Congratulations on finding one. That's a nice model.

The LHS has a very small section of old BB kits and I think 2 old MDC Roundhouse lits (now 1 ) among all their other Big Buck kits. It only cost $7.99. Was a lot of fun to build, easy but required some modeling skills too. The other MDC kit is a PGE 50' box car for $5.99, I might see if it's there next month!

nice cars ken, thanks for posting. Looking at the trucks on those cars, reminds me of the trucks on the MDC caboose I posted. Have never seen this type of truck before, thought it was curious on the caboose and then I see similar ones on yours.

| Those trucks are really period looking; I dig it. I'm overwhelmed at the number of variations in trucks there are and what you subsequently need to know if you're chasing any sort of authenticity in your model railroad; or for that matter making a purchase of something you think is great and then . . .

Now imagine the horror when you're trying to do a fully-prototypical rebuild of an AHM helium car and discover that the particular sort of truck you need happens to be the ONLY ONE that NOONE HAS EVER MANUFACTURED (friction bearing clasp-brake freight trucks)... trying to make them, and destroying the only pair of roller-bearing clasp-brake trucks you've ever seen... alright, I'm done. Anyone have some MDC clasp-brake trucks to spare? Tall order, but I may as well ask...
Trucks make me mad. There's too many kinds.

Well, once the price of 3D printers come down, you can really design and make your own side frames. I'm glad I don't suffer from either SRCS or APDR ( Strict Rivet Counting Syndrome or Actual Prototype Design Required ), I'm strictly I brung it and I'll run it! I have multiple AHM Helium cars, so you say the trucks are not what they actually ran on the originals? Oh well, I could care less, for me. I do intend to make up a helium / blimp consist, I have the helium tanker cars, just need to make up some blimp support cars and it'll be a fun consist to run. I've run the Helium tankers some, I replaced the original frames with Bowser units so the couplers are body-mounted.
Anyway, on to my COTW, another Lionel HO, this time a NYC flat. Might hold some blimp parts eventually. Last of my Lionel OTW posts this week.

With regard to trucks, etc. Check out Shapeways 3D printing. http://www.shapeways.com/search?q=ho+truck&s=0#more-products
I have gotten interested in HOn30. I got a print out of 30 foot narrow gauge passenger car from them for around $20, which I thought was quite reasonable. They also have a bunch of trucks and other rr stuff, as well as tons of other stuff.
They are a printing house and will do cutom printing if you've got the file or they have a lot of in house files (and/or files licensed to them) they can print for you.
The technology just blows me away and the prices are pretty good. For example, there's a bunch of HO trucks for around $10 a pair.
The future is here!

Shouldn't have left my caboose in the back sidings.......damn hoodlums!!
Bought this athearn SP Baywindow kit at my favorite train store for $8 NIB, bought some graffiti decals for about $5 and decided to recreate the baywindow caboose the UP Saugus Local uses, and the local has ran around my town of Santa Clarita since the 90's and we've followed it from when it was SP units to SP/Rio Grande mix, then to patched SP units, and now onto just UP units.

Not sure whether I've posted this excursion car before or not. I built the top excursion apparatus and the benches on an IHC or Bachmann flat car to replicate the one in the photo, but I've been shy on people (and you can see the ones in the photo of the original, the cars are pretty crammed full). So this photo of my car shows it populated a wee bit more. This is for that shadowbox that I've been progressing very slowly on.

And Jerry, I still don't have my loaf pan, but . . . does a fancy feast can count for anything?

Barry, that excursion car is a neat idea, well executed. The flatcar converted to passenger service is still common: /tyco/forum/uploaded/scsshaggy/20140110120504_r_flat_blue_thumb.jpg That car is on a railroad where I volunteer: http://www.thefreeportshow.com/scs.htm
Anyhow, I think your car with the wooden railings, painted that classy red, looks about as nice as such a car can look.

I have 2 roundhouse cabeese (fine, cabooses), one is an GN offset-cupola and the other is a BN center-cupola. Fun kits to build, and I like the weight the metal chassis provides. It feels like a solid, quality model.

quote:I have 2 roundhouse cabeese (fine, cabooses), one is an GN offset-cupola and the other is a BN center-cupola. Fun kits to build, and I like the weight the metal chassis provides. It feels like a solid, quality model.

My layout has more or less standardized on the Roundhouse metal chassis caboose. It is a solid, quality model. They're a pleasure to use. They track nicely and they mount the couplers in just the right place. In short, they just work.
