I found this link while "window shopping". I wanted to see what the deal was with the "coal loading pit" component of the Life-Like Coaling Tower. Well the link, is kind of interesting about how this guy did his personal thing with building the Life-Like model, and then, a link he includes in his description of the project takes you to the original instructions which seem like they could be useful if you wanted to scratch build a coaling tower, or even if you were thinking about buying the Life-Like kit.

That's a great link - thanks for posting it. And I also enjoy JS Geare's newsletters - he puts out some pretty good ideas, and is always on the lookout for finding modeling methods that save money.

It's a really inexpensive and fun kit to build. Looks good when painted.
