* I got a few things at the Allentown train show at Merchants Square Mall yesterday. * I found a Tri-ang Stevenson Rocket loco and 3 passengers cars. I haven't had one of these sets in years. * Also i bought 3 Tyco old time cars that now complete my TYCO Civil War, Gray set ( Georgia Centrial ). The Box car, horse car and low side gondola. I had the loco and combine. It would be nice to get a couple of small cannons someplace.
* Other trains were a Aristo Craft 4-4-0 loco without tender with all good castings. Dealer said it can run. A all metal Mantua 4-6-2, loco only. A Marx NYC wreck crane need re-stringing . And a Atlas Classic RS-1 Factory painted Genesee & Wyomoing #43. I got it at a great price. ($25.). I cant past up A RS-1 actualy new. It has all its packing, even the soft inserts that protect the handrails. This came wrapped in its clear plastic wrap. I dont think it was ever run.
frank

The RS-1

? Any Genesee and Wyoming modelers out there ?

Found these online 2000km away. Seller wouldn't ship. Luckily I have a friend who lived nearby and he picked them up and is mailing them to me tomorrow. Now that I'll have 3 Via locomotives I can put one on an Athearn Chassis that I have and detail it up a bit. And yes, another Canadiana Sharknose! Seller had them since he was a kid. I'm excited!

Went to the World's Greatest Hobby show at Fairplex today, and scored these. From right to left: A Tyco Golden Eagle caboose, a Tyco Soo Line double plug-door hi-cube boxcar, a Tyco Gulf 62' triple-dome tanker (these 3 were bought as a 3-for-$10 lot), a PlayArt clone of the Tyco triple-dome tanker (bought for $3 when it should have been $1 but the trucks were off -the pins are broken and a prior owner made a repair with wire- and so the dealer charged me for the tank and for each truck separately), and a Tyco ATSF C430 (bought for $5). In the foreground, a broken Tyco crossing bought for $2 from the same dealer as the PlayArt tanker.

No it won't go to the grave. It will end up in a thrift store where Dan Mack will breeze n with a 15% coupon and buy it for pennies on the dollar.

ON FEBURARY 25 2017 I posted a photo showing a badly painted Fleischmann 4-6-0. I cleaned it some and gave it a coat of black. You may recognize the number-boards I put on the cab and tender rear. Now it is good old 4301. ** I still need to place a headlight,t and a pilot (maybe) on it. ** ** Also I need a different coupler and a road name on the tender. ** frank

Well guys it only says Playart Hong Kong. I fixed the broken truck and it is rolling around again on my layout. In the picture the bottom car with the raised cab, the wheels are missing and the side frames also. I got new wheel sets and glued a plastic plate on to hold them in, then painted it black. I paid $20. for the set. frank

** Not much in the way of numbers for my finds at the Allentown Merchants Square Mall today. Only some quality. Good was the Marx NYC crane tender $4. Better is the Gilbert Tie Ejector car $5. Best is Lindburg Milwaukee Roar flat car with 3 U S Navy crates $5. All are in need of a good cleaning. frank

hey bus that American Flyer tie ejector was cheep for a reason Ejector mechanism is removed. Original trucks replaced and the pin they use to mount to removed. The new trucks are old AHM ones held in place by a big ugly screw. It may not be worth the $5. dollars I paid for it.

My latest find on the evilbay. A partially finished Tyco General locomotive. The seller says that it includes a Micro Scale unopened RH-21 decal set. Anyone out there know what this set is? What road name or type?

I have an unused Jupiter set that I am thinking about putting on this locomotive.

** I just got a couple of locomotives from my good friend Charlie. Two oldies. First a Mantua cast and brass Mogul 2-6-0. Then a NYC Tenshodo 4-8-2 Mohawk. These locos are definitely top shelf as far as I am concerned. Not being able to acquire the new standard models with their high prices. Getting these two is an almost impossible task for me, if not for my good friend Charlie. He definitely may my day adding this pair to my collection. frank
