Had those Burlington cars as a kid. I got set (one coach only, F-unit pulling) Christmas after my Mom and I took the Denver Zephyr. Great times.

I liked Gary's reminiscing on the set and Chops nice 1-word post. I have a pair of powered Tyco F7As to pull the set. It should look OK running around again. Now to find a matching "B" unit. frank

Something in the Mail today. A package arrived from Great Britain this afternoon. Kenny has done it again. Transferred a steam locomotive to the Bergen Point Branch of the PGW. Yep it is a rare beauty and both words Rare and beauty really fit this locomotive. It has arrived safe and sound from across the pond. A B&O 0-4-0 saddle tank locomotive with the only Manufacturing info on it Japan. Has anyone ever found information on this rare loco. Ken has repeatedly put the question of who made it. We all know who most likely did, but know nothing for sure. Here it is at the Frankford roundhouse getting it acceptance inspection done. Not a big crowd turned out. I guess they feel it is just another 0-4-0 tanker. But it ain't nothin regular. It is special. Thank alot Kenny. frank

Got this from one of my "local guys" today at our weekend flea market. Occasionally he has good stuff.
Picked this lot up today for $30 (CDN)
LL CN and CP Rail cabooses (Started down that slippery slope - First Tyco then LL Cabeese...) A Tyco CN Bobber, A Mantua lighted AT&SF caboose, a Mantua GN flat, and Holly Sugar and B&M operating hoppers. Also picked up a dummy Tyco/Mantua F7B for my CN consist. Jewel of course is the Gilbert Hudson. Needs a drawbar screw and a pilot truck.
I do good? lol

Today I have added two locomotives to my collection. I bought a third one but can't find it at this time. A Fleischmann steeple-cab R2 class electric. Don't know the Fleischmann number for it. The other is a die-cast 0-4-0 camelback painted long ago in Central Railroad of New Jersey. It is a HOTCO model ( HO Train Co.). The third is a newer type 0-4-0 camelback by mantua. frank
The 0-4-0C first.

The Steeple-Cab Electric.

Today a new small diesel locomotive has joined to HO list. Another, a second Penn-Line D1. This one has a factory paint and lettering. It is lettered Penn-Line 49. It is a dusty little diesel as acquired. It shold do very nicely in light yard and transfer duty. frank

Nice locomotive Richie. Those Aristo Craft new ones locos are usually very good. That is one of their best. How far was this Poughkeepsie train show from home. You are usually quite a traveler. frank

Today I went to the Fall 2017 Greenberg Train and Toy Show in Wilmington MA. Compared to the last few train shows I've been to (especially since the more local annual one has ended sadly), I bought a substantial amount of stuff there, due to me and my family planning to move into a new house next month and me designing a brand new HO train layout to go with it...
As you can probably tell from the top right, the new layout is going to use Bachmann's nickel-silver E-Z Track. I'm also going to try out Walthers's Cornestone street system with it as well. The only TYCO product I bought though was a weathered Burlington Northern streamlined-cupola caboose. It only has one horn/hook coupler, but I plan to install knuckle couplers on it once I get the time (probably once the new layout is ready to go.)

All I found at Edison NJ train show Sunday was a Fleischmann E44 electric. It is Fleischmann catalog number 1345, E-44, 1952 Bo-Bo. Maybe someday I'll find the red one. I took 10 photos and none of them came out good. The silver roof really reflects light and causes to the camera to stop down and close the aperture of the lens. I'll have to shut down the center spot metering and go back to a average setting. This is the best one. All the others are really dark. frank

That shoe house is awesome! ...and of course, I LOVE that True Value piggyback car!
Here are my latest finds, from the Nicholas Smith Train Store. No locomotives this time, but plenty of old Tyco rolling stock (as well as that of a few other manufacturers.) Highlights of this acquirement for me include: Another Autoloader with all 6 cars, flat car with 3 cabover trucks, Burlington gondola with NYC refridgerator "box" load, the big Tyco Shell tanker, and the American LaFrance tower fire truck on a flat car. Of course, can't forget that open cab American LaFrance Midgetoy fire truck.

what you call "refrigerators" are actually the signal boxes that house the crossing signal mechs http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-GhvKYX_FqdI/UQQIv4XCpBI/AAAAAAAAWv8/9zBqmaHxP0w/s1600/crossing.jpg
