Bought a box at the flea market for $40.

3 Tyco Santa Fe passenger cars in good shape; Tyco lettered cast metal 0-6-0T and bobber, Navy flat car, Republic tank car, MEC box car, a couple others, Athearn PRR F7A-B set (rubber band drive) in so-so shape, Athearn Wabash caboose (rare), some other cars, one Lionel HO parts car, pieces of an IHC 2-6-0, a bunch of track. Probably $80-$100 worth total.

Wow, that Minute Maid is yet another piece I've never
heard of.

Congrats on the Acela. The couplers are a bit of a pain,
and I discovered the only way to assemble the train
is lay it on its side next to the rails, couple it, and
gently, with the help of an assistant, tip it right side
up and rail the entire unit. I bought replacement
couplers off Bachmann on Line as the are prone
to getting snapped off.

* Last Saturday I went to my friends house in Long Valley NJ. I helped him out with some stuff and he showed me some trains he got on E-bay. Then he asked me to work on a few on them and drop what ever is ready off to another friend in Elizabeth NJ who is going to Timonium Maryland train show July 9th.
* Well I really liked the Akane C&O class H8 2-6-6-6 Allegheny. The front pilot was damaged and in need of repair so it would run. Otherwise a real beauty. I wound up trading for it. Today I re-soldered the damaged pilot and got it running. When I checked my Gem model catalog from 1966-67, I found the H8 listed there as a Akane model made for sale by Imperial Models. I already have the Winton 2-6-6-6 H8. It needs much more work.
* I also got from Charlie a Mantua 2-8-2 that was a old conversion to a 2-8-4. Also in need of work.
* There is a Penn Line PRR T1 4-4-4-4, I will be working on for Charlie. It has no trailing truck. None of my 2 spare 4 wheel trucks fit as this are to large in height. This stops the needed motion of the training truck. I got lucky because the 4 wheel trailer that comes with the mantua 2-8-4 fits the T1. Now I have just one spare Mantua trailing truck for a Mikado so returning it to a Mikado is what needs to be done. The 4 wheel truck need some magic to have it fit correctly. I do think it can be done.
* Also a Penn-Line PRR K4 which needed some parts. Tender trucks, trailing truck, drawbar, and a front pilot mounted. Plus it was all apart. Now it is back together and running. Needs paint and lettering. I also got a Mantua metal shark nose with 2 drive trucks from Charlie. It needs to be checked if it runs and serviced. Also paint and lettering and a spare dual horn I have needs to be mounted.
* Earlier today I went to Elizabeth to another friends house and dropped off the trains I had ready for Timonium. I also found out that I can go also. I haven't gone there in 20 years. It will be like a brand new show for me.
Well here is a photo of a few of the locomotives I have now.
Frank

The C&O H* 2-6-6-6 factory painted.

The mantua 2-8-2 As I got it. I haven't worked on it yet. It has a feed water heater, and a all weather cab a different front pilot. Some nice extra details. BUT!! a Pacific body doesn't fit a Mikado frame. Need some magic. Now all weather cab is longer than a standard cab and more magic is needed here also. Now the different front pilot is one I don't like the looks of. I have a good standard front pilot and will use it.

The mantua Shark nose.

I went to the Pomonta Fairplex Yesterday for the Great Train Show. The show is smaller than the GTE so less vendors and higher prices. Got there at $5 a piece.

Sorry for the slightly crappy image, but here's my pickups from the LHS.

Some train wheels, a truck bed with cargo, some milk bottles, the body of a tractor, some wheels, a battered and unfinished wooden Union Pacific boxcar that I'll be attempting to do some basic work on, and a General American Refrigerator Express "Dairymen's League" reefer car. No idea on the reefer car's make. It's heavy, has metal trucks, and plastic wheels/construction. Much weightier than my any of my Tyco billboard reefer cars, or my AHM boxcar. It's in good shape save for missing couplers.

sim-al2
Also since they cut track maintaince the trains had huge trouble making over the railroad by the end

After collecting since I was about 7(?). I have never been to a train show. I plan on going to one next month but I am afraid that I will get overwhelmed and not keep a level head. Does that happen to anyone else? I mean so much eye candy at once is just too much to take in sometimes.

It is very difficult to keep a level head at a good train show. I try to keep in mind what I need, or at least what I already have, so I don't go overboard. I have a spreadsheet of what I have, so I can try to maintain perspective. Although I have made a few impulse purchases lately, and haven't updated the inventory. How many TYCO loading ramps do I really need?

For all our Canadian members. There are two Canadian Pacific items that are in this group of trains. The Bachmann GP35, that is said to be DCC equipped, and a Gilbert large metal flat car 33544. here are photos of just them.

The Lionel GP7 , American Flyer I serviced and it runs fine, I still need to put couplers on it.. The Lionel Hustler runs good to, as does the Marx and the Stewart too. The Thomas wine car has the couplers mounted now and trucks are also put on. The Varney tank car needs work. The crane hasn't been touched yet. The Varney hopper and the Ulrich gondolas are complete and need nothing to run.

Really nice vintage score, Kristoffer. I hope you post the Lilliput
Crane as a COTW soon- I've never seen one. Heck, any of those
would make for great OTW's.

* Buss That was a table, one of 3 or 4 hundred. I got into looking for thing I could get, and didn't take more than the 10 photos you seen. I guess I got distracted. That was just another table. One thing there, 70% of the tables were either Lionel, or Flyer S gauge. * Pete was there. I was nicely surprised. I seen him about 3 times. He was always real busy digging through all the trays of trains. He was real busy so I didn't bother him, but the first time we meet.
* Well I got another Lionel critter. Lionel calls them Huskies I think. Small 2 axel diesel switcher that look like the Athearn Hustlers. I almost got a atomic energy commission Huskies, but the dealer just wouldn't come down. The Air force one is ruff. Last owner drilled out the cab end light and messed it up. The way it was it was still $20. I, seen as the photos show a Marx rocket launching car. It was listed as $115. Dealer said he would take $100. Even at that we were $70 apart.
* Maybe next show, in 2 weeks, I'll get more and better photos. Take care Buss.
