On Sunday I went back and found a Hornby Coronation class streamlined pacific, the "City of Bristol". It is in need of parts and some work. I think I have the necessary parts Catfordken had sent me a few years ago. I only have a photo of it apart I hope I'll get it running.
* On Saturday pete ( AFkid) came to the show. On Sunday John (wks) talked for awhile

Here it is all together with the red wheels on it should have instead of the blue ones it came with. The way the engine rolls is fixed. The only problem now is a bad motor. But it sure looks good.

I think those blue wheels originally came from a Hornby Gordon looking at the original color.

Steve; The same streamlined Coronation loco city of Bristol came also in blue, named Coronation. It came with blue or black drivers. I may put the blue drivers on this locomotive.

I have seen that little diesel sell for more than a Gilbert C&O bell ringing Alco RSD7. I got it for $15. Only one I seen in the last 10 years for less than $100. Needless to say I didn't need to think a lot about buying it. Did I quickly grab up that little diesel.

while going through boxes of trains I brought to the last show, I found this car that I packed in a different box. It also was purchased at the Wayne train show. I got it because the railings were in better shape than the one I have already. It is a old Silver Streak / Trainminiature MOW car now made by Walters. It is the Maintance of the Way transfer caboose.

Some things I got at the Greenberg train show Nov. 28 2015.

* About these cars; In with them are a few that for me were very hard to find. The Virginian brown hopper car is a MARX. I have seen it in a photo on E-bay, in a set, and never anywhere else. You can see the Erie Flat with the old fashion wood boat on it. Another Marx car and again for me it was hard to find. In with the 3 tanks cars , all old Mantua is a blue one is one I never seen before. I have seen it listed in catalogs but did not know what it looked like. The CN reefer by Athearn is in real great shape and both doors opening. Usually these doors are broken off and missing. The Lionel Erie center cab is the third I have gotten but for some reason I have traded away the others. It is good to have it back once again. The Penn Line wood load flat are a nice car to find. The other Marx car and NH loco came together with the boat car, The Virginian was found separately. The NH loco and caboose and cars I got for $30. I paid that mainly for the boat car, for the F3A is really in bad shape. I stripped out the drive and threw the body and frame away. Even without the loco it was a very great find and buy.
* Another story is the box of trains I found for $20. The Aristo-Craft 2-4-2 was in it . The 3 CB&Q diesels were in the box also. Some Mantua die cast parts and some broken cars also filled the box. On the 2-4-2 I have already replaced the broken tender truck so all it needs is a good cleaning and lube, and a piece of clear plastic for the box window.
* This was a good day for me. Now if I can only fine a Aristo-Craft 4-2-2-and a 4-8-2 ? Someday !

* Today I went for my first time to the Loose caboose, railroad shop, in Bogota NJ.
Actually it is a small shop mainly Railroad trains and related things. They are having a problem with a water leak and had to remove some things and restore them else ware.
* I seen 3 Aristo Craft loco boxes and checked them out. A 2-6-0 look complete less a pair of tender trucks. A second 2-6-0 has a broken set of cylinders and the same missing tender trucks. A CB&Q 0-4-0 switcher is complete but is listed as not running. Well I bought the three at $15 apiece. I think I may have enough parts to fix the three. I don't have original trucks for the tenders but I have other truck pairs that may do well. I do have a cylinder set for the Thomas Rogers 2-6-0.

Well I have 2 more Thomas Rogers locomotives running now. I now have 3 boxed 2-6-0's now. All run ! The 0-4-0 I'll work on tomorrow.
* With the 2-6-0's. On one I replaced the cylinders and then I found out that with little work Mantua old tine tender trucks will work nicely with the Aristo Craft tenders. On the second I only needed to replace the broken trucks. On the 0-4-0 the motor had bad windings and I had to replace it with a spare I had. Now all three Aristo craft locomotives from the Loose Caboose are together and running.

First photos of my trains from the show today at St Joe's High School in Montvale NJ.
Their were 2 rooms full of trains. The collectors club which runs this show is exactly that a collectors club so the show here is 80% Lionel and American flyer. I still had no trouble finding what I was looking for Athearn drive parts for Blue box and yellow box locos. I found a GP-7, A F7a, both powered and 2 dummy locos, a F7B and a Globe F7A for parts. I make a list after photos are posted.

My flea market, a guy had a couple big boxes of mixed HO, N and Lionel. And HO from Lionel HO to Marklin 3-rail.

I spent about $200 but I got two Marklin steamers with tenders, two tank steamers, two diesels, a Lionel HO husky that's worth a few bucks, a brass 0-4-0T, a sealed Mantua set in the box from the 1980s (no track/transformer), an N scale GG1, and a few other odd loose bits.

Just the one Marklin steam engine alone, if it was boxed, is worth about $200.

I hope you can post photos of all the trains you mentioned. I have a little bit of 3 rail Marklin track . Probably enough for a small loop. Looking for a reasonably priced power Pack at train shows. My old time German Dier Adler trajn set by Trix is 3 rail. Like to see it move. 30 to 40 years ago Marklin made 12 DC trains under the name Marklin Hammo. I had one steam engine. It is posted here somewhere.

I am back today from the sat. Edison Greenberg train show.
I don't know if anyone here is familiar with Jouef ho trains. I found a boxed set of special trailer caring flat cars, with trailers, and a tractor and uploading ramp. The set is boxed and with it separately were 3 other flat cars with trailers, and 2 tractors and ramps.
Here is the box cover, and a look at the set inside.
frank

IN the next photo are the other Jouef items I mentioned and a Hornby electric locomotive, and a Lima passenger car. View of the passenger car is blocked in this photo. I'll post it in " car of the week ", next week.

Good morning ! Sunday morning and I am spending time before going back to train show. I hope to get there about 1:30 to 2:00Pm. To show a train I found there but could not buy because of the High Price attached to it. A Rivarossi 4-4-2 Milwaukee Road streamlined locomotive, in HO, from the 1950's. A real beauty in its box. I'll share the photo of it on the table.

What did he want for that Milwaukee engine?

The guy I got the stuff from a couple weeks ago was back, so I picked up four more Marklin passenger cars and some other odds and ends. Already flipped some of the first stuff as I managed to ID it. Turns out I now have a limited edition passenger car set from 1996 - I had one of the cars and the bottom to a second, had to buy the other two and the top of the third today.

Picked up some more N, too, nothing too exciting but one car for a Bachmann Turbo Train, which is somewhat rare.

* About the cost of the Rivarossi Milwaukee 4-4-2 . All the dealer said was that it was very high. He'll be at the Merchant Square Mall train show on Saturday the 16th of January. I'll see him again there and if the loco is there take another photo and get the price.
* Justin it is a boxed Varney aero train set. The loco under the 4-4-2 is a Penn Line 2-8-2 PRR L1 Mikado. The one under that is a Gilbert 446 NYC Hudson. The only one they made with a whistle. He always has nice collector trains but at high prices. * I missed out on a Sears Marx set.
