Nice CP Mike!!!! A Revel huh? In GREAT shape too!
So, here's mine. an OLD Walthers Trainline GP15-1....

I got this for $5.00 at a show, new in the box, the guy who had it said, it was a coffee grinder. I was like OK that's a first on a Walthers but....I got it home, and what this guy was talking about is beyond me, you can barely hear it run.... in either direction and no matter the speed......AND its pretty strong too......So, I think the guy just wanted to get rid of it and thinking of it, it may have been that the new Proto by Walthers was just being released on the same model.....
That's OK, I'm good with it! (I got 2 of them, now both the same road number, one will change!)

1962 Mantua EX Rio Grande GP20. Bought it off ebay in 2007, guy bought it brand new in 1962 as a kit, built is as well. Runs great being fully cleaned (mechanically) and oiled. Runs good after warming up a bit.

That's PATINA, Man! doesn't hurt the appearsnce a bit. Those were (are?) some of the nicest units ever made. Took a little throttle expertise, but what's wrong with that? So did the prototypes.

That's not a cobweb. He has found a way to scratch build a scale sized extension cord. That engine is parked near the shops for some minor cab repairs and the crew needed a trouble light to see the job.
That's my story and I'm stickin' to it.

To keep with Ken's theme.. My LOTW was a $30 purchase:
New One Model - Aristo-Craft 4-2-2 Philadelphia & Reading Steam Locomotive
It has the incorrect wheel set under the cab, but this will be fairly easy to replace.

Here it is folks, the latest iteration of green railroad technology... the DD40ECO!

The engine has a soundtraxx tsunami decoder for sound and the first motor, and a soundtraxx MC decoder for the rear motor and the lights. I use it as a yard engine when people bring in very long trains, so it has operating orange strobe lights.

Fellow with the DD40ECO, you are SCARING me.
My LOTW is in so many pieces right now there's nothing to even take a picture of... it's eventually going to be an athearn blue box wide-hood SD45 - I found the shell custom painted in GN for a buck, and a working ATSF one on my next visit to the same shop for $8. The atsf one got its handrails, cab, glass and lights pilfered, and I'm hacking it to bits till I have enough to have the GN shell complete. The worst part? I opened up the ATSF unit, and - to my absolute horror - the drivetrain fell out, motor, flywheels and shafts, onto the floor. The motor mount was from a bad batch of plastic and it fractured. Anyone have a spare?

This week, my LOTW is an end-of-the-show acquisition ( and bargain? ), at $5 I couldn't not get this all-metal New One 4-6-0 made in Japan. The tender is missing the trucks, but otherwise seems complete. I also got a $5 mantua goat or something, 0-4-0, with valve gear. I'll probably post that one next week. Anyway, here's my New One -

KENNY' your loco is puzzling. Never seen one before. That is a good find. Very interesting. Thanks for posting. Ken the H6 I have is a small engine. I wonder is it is not made to a proper scale. I know I have read, on line, info in a Google book on that engine. I'll be looking for it for the next couple of days till I find it again. Frank

Hi scshaggy!
Thanks, but I can not take credit for the scenery. I stole the listing photo from the eBay purchase. Funny, I hadn't even noticed how nicely done the setting was, but I completely agree with your sentiments!

I see I'm a little late to the party...some cool engines so far!
Here's my Tyco Alco C430 in New Haven paint (now fully operational). It was purchased last week for $15. I'd never seen this particular piece in person before, and I must say Tyco's Alco looks good in NH paint!
Here she is with her CN counterpart and matching streamliners...

Hi DaCheez,
I am a fan of that locomotive in that paint scheme. I think I finally acquired my first one this past year. I'm especially a fan of anything New Haven!

I don't have a whole lot of New Haven stock, but this piece looks great! The black with white stripes is very simple and elegant. There are few paint schemes Tyco did on various engines that just fit perfectly.

Here's my lotw. It's actually a Gilbert/American Flyer ho scale industrial loco. It is very close to the Vulcan 25 tonner used by the Rio Grande, Micolithic and Northern (in Texas, defunct in 1936). It even has the drivers connected to a crank, which I had to search Ebay for, as I'm guessing Gilbert eliminated at some point. It is painted to match that road's loco (see the Northeast Rails site under Vulcan 25 tons). I also have a spare shell, so I can go back to original.

That's one cool locomotive. I like the linkage to the side rods with that crank. It's also amazing how it can run on the underside of the shelf.

PRR, I'm sure I spent too much (on Ebay), nearly $40, but it was in perfect shape, and it's the only thing that closely approximates the prototype loco I was looking at. They do seem rare in good shape, so I splurged for it. I'll put the original blue shell "industrial Transfer Service" back on of I ever sel it. Great slow speed running, and doesn't get stuck (probably due to the weight). WOW, I was wondering what the heck you were talking about, but on my home computer, the pic is upright, but here at work, its upside-down!

Frank, love that brass beauty. I guess you bought that after I left.
Sean, those are drivers from a Rivarossi Y6b under the cab of that 4-2-2. I've never seen a trailing truck with counterweights.
Adams, that Gilbert switcher looks great in custom paint, and it's got some wicked magnetraction, too. The earlier black version had the counterweights, but when they changed to blue paint they were eliminated.

Yep I could not remember the exact year, so it probably was '68 or maybe 'even '69. My dad worked for Penn Central. Funny thing to me about that set looking back is that it had the PC loco and a C&O caboose. Didn't seem strange to me at the time

| Is it irony or foreshadowing?? The CSX, née Chessie System, née C&O, now owns part of the old PC system (the NYC lines). AHM was just way ahead of its time!
