Ken I have never seen that one before. Silvine 0-4-0t is a side tanker, not a saddle tanker. You got one. You have a kitbash or a rare bird. frank

Could this be New One? The foil cab number and the doo-dad on the stack makes me thing so.

It is a loco made with all the same parts except for a different body. I see it has no new one name. Maybe a limited run, made for a different distributor of trains. First one I have seen with a saddle tank. That is a old 1950 style coupler that predates the X2F horn hook. It is a rear bird. Good find Kenny. frank

Ken, That's a nice little set up! The B&O is a nice touch, but question, the couplers, they're brass, I got a hand full of those! Need any?

Those couplers look similar to Baker couplers and Fleischmann. I've read that they operate pretty well.

It's definitely New One, just with a saddle tank shell on the Teakettle chassis. Judging by the couplers, maybe this saddle tank version was only sold in Europe.
Interestingly enough, those couplers are very similar to the old Buddy L design.

I agree, no question it's New One, it's just going to take some digging to find a catalog reference.
Any chance it's an American Train & Track offering? I know they sold a brass 0-4-0 in their line for a period, most of their stuff was oddball imports made by other folks.

Same motor that's in my New One Camelback.

Some said "New One, Japan" on the bottom plate, others just said "Japan." The manufacturer's not a mystery, just who imported it and where.

I got an 0-6-0 off of Ebay a few weeks ago, I posted a couple of photos. It's a great little engine, wih a diamond stack. I can't remember the road name on it, since it's in the basement and I'm watching the Walton's trying to reform their father.

That camelback looks like it could fill in for a NewYork, Ontario & Western engine. Beautiful little locomotive.

Thanks, Bob. I was lucky to find one complete without any rot. The tender trucks were gone, so I drilled out Bachmann Reading-style talgo trucks from one of their Consolidations and added wipers. It's supposed to be CNJ, but the tender decals were removed... who knows, maybe someone was planning to make it NYO&W.

I just looked at it again, Nickel Plate; that is one beautiful locomotive! If I ever see one running loose again, you can be sure it will find a new home pronto! Again, what a beautiful engine. That, plus some Tyco camelbacks that have appeared on this site is giving me the courage to try and jump over the pile of poo blocking my way, even though I know what would probably happen!
