And apparently STILL good today, I try to buy them at auction, and they seem to sell for $10 a pair at least. Seen T-26, T-31, etc and all seem to sell well. I wanted some for my old Walther's old tyme passenger cars, and just can't nail any for a reasonable price ( cheaper than what they sell for ). And I don't know of any modern trucks with the old-time look to match the ones I do have except for the original CV's that came on them.

Where's a good place to look for those? I'm interested in trucks for my two labelle 1890 cars. From what I understand, nobody sells passenger trucks that aren't for streamliners, heavyweights, modern stuff, or the dinky wheel base mantau/tyco cars. I want the longer wheel base seen on trucks of cars like the prototype of the line I'd like to model:

While the price is higher than $10 a pair. They actually have a decent selection of passenger trucks. http://www.bethlehemcarworks.com/Products/Kit_Bits/index.html#Trucks

Ray, the 9' trucks are almost spot-on what I'm looking for, though I see suitable substitutes as well. Thank ya'll.
I also wonder though, do you think the trucks in the lighting kit for walthers 60' cars look about-right for the car I'm trying to model? They are a little bit shorter, but I think I have a pair of those lying around here somewhere. I'm going to check and see if anyone sells those trucks as replacement parts

This is an old topic but I have heard someone looking for these recently... I just found a prewar Varney obs for - get this - 50 CENTS - so I could salvage a pair of these trucks, but I junked the rest as it was completely rusted to bits. Anyone know where I can find more? These things cleaned up real nice. (oh, and they do say varney, not central valley, on them)

Only at older hobby shops and Ebay for the most part. I bought a Lot of passenger-truck Central Valley trucks this past year, I wound up paying about $120 for 10 pairs, and had to fight off bidders til the last second ticked off the clock. But some of the older Walthers passenger cars took Central Valley trucks, and they are SO hard to find, and I wanted to get my passenger cars rolling again. There were 3 lots of this size when I bid and won, and the other two went for more than that for 10 sets. They're like gold these days. Just nothing as comparable today I guess. Metal and sprung.

A thing about Central Valley. I think they always put their name on the trucks somewhere. Also passenger car kit manufacturing companies got there trucks from I don't know where. Some may have made them themselves. But most kits had trucks with them. They had no name on them. I guess there were a few different companies that made passenger car trucks back in 1950 to 1990. frank

I have a pair of these trucks still in their Central Valley box. I think mine are T-31. Don't have any use for them, I might put them up for sale.
