Well, I was hoping I would have something to post this week, but I'm still messing with the Bachmann 4-4-0. Maybe someday it will fall together. I can't believe the problems I'm having with such a simple little engine. I can't believe I used to put together brass craftsman locomotive kits. Sign of the times, I guess.

It hasn't been all for naught, though. I found an old pair of AHM freight trucks in my -ahem- "archives". I conscripted them and put Bachmann 33" wheelsets in them, then made some new wipers for power pickup. That works pretty well, now, but the driveshaft is giving me fits, so I'm working that out as we speak. I've also been experimenting with the wiring to see what works the best, using readily available telephone wiring. Itried to set up an eight wheel pickup system like Harold M. but wasn't successful at that, but I think I can set up the tender for four-wheel pickup and the engine for four-wheel return, which then leaves only the headlight to worry about. Might have to dispense with that.

On another topic, I took my laptop to a computr nerd for servicing today. The scammers were taking it over. The worst was when I would try to log into this forum and it wouldn't recognize not only my password, but my user name, as well. Thankfully, I still have my desktop, until Mr. Gates decides to work his evil on the XP operating system next year. He keeps up, and he's going to force me to look into a new hobby. I've been thinking about model railroading.
