Athearn Little Monster 0-4-2. The State Belt RR of California (San Francisco) had a couple of these on their roster in the early 1900s.

Thomas, Again, NICE! Now, If I could only locate a set of the same type Cylinders.....ERRRRR......
Seems like some of the models I have planned in steam, ALL require the Slide Valve type cylinders.....

My favorite, Roundhouse David Lee Circus 2-8-0 kit that I built. As of recently I added brass numberboards on top of the smokebox, and a brass moveable bell. Still need a new plastic headlight for it.....

Well, to add in to the whole LOTW.....

This was tossed into a "lot" I bought at the local train show, just before my birthday, and got a few hand fulls of paint, a arm and a half load of buildings, and the guy their asked if I'd be interested, and he tossed it in.....(Steam, free? I can't say no!)
Needs some work, and all but its a Pemco, I have a Western Maryland version, from IHC.....Don't know how well either runs had the WM one for years, and have never ran it.....(I want to make sure its prototypical to the WM first....)

Steam free? I wouldn't say no either... If this is the tender driven version, I have one as well and I like it. The only problems are that it squeals (sometimes) and it's not very good at backing up. The rear tender wheel tends to jump off the track.

Thomas, Yes its the tender drive! And yes, it was merely tossed in to the lot, as I had some interest in it, BUT, I spotted a few issues it had, missing pilot, and boiler front, and the tender isn't mounted right (broken) and the other side is/was missing the rods....I've replaced them now tho....And at the time I first seen it the fellow wanted $50.00!!!! And I simply sat it down and mentioned that it wasn't in good shape for that price.....And left it at that and moved down his table to see what else was around and that's when I seen the boxes of paint bottles from Testors, and new at that and 25 cents each, OHH YEAH...Then I found a bunch of other stuff, and all I had left for cash was I think $19 and he too kit for all of it, and as I said tossed in the 2-6-0! So yeah, pretty much free!

* A N&W 2-8-8-2 Y3 in brass and cast by Sanhongsa of Korea. I got it last Saturday. This is the Powerhouse, Oriental Limited, locomotive with the die cast boiler. All else is brass I think. I wont be scratching the loco drive, detail parts, and tender which is completely brass, to prove it is brass. Only the Samhongsa name is on the locomotive. frank

Frank, Yes, thanks for the correction, that's what I was trying to type....LOL I been working on finding parts for a Penn Line steamer an have it on the brain! A Penn Line 2-10-0.....As I have the complete loco, parts got moved from it in the shop, and I want to get all these "project" loco's together, in "kit" boxes.

microbuss, I have no idea... that was the name made up by Athearn and I think it was just a bit of marketing.

Parading this old-timer for my LOTW (before someone else claims it for THEIR own roundhouse ), I just bought this old gem from my model train shop I work at tonight, for a stand-up guy in Concord, NH, who won't be mentioned here . Hee hee...anyway, a vintage Varney Yellowstone 2-8-8-4 , cast aluminum shell, needs some main rods on one set of drivers, and some restoration, but a great find in the attic at my work. Hopefully this will make John's dream come true. Wonder how high I can get him to jump... Oh well, it's all in fun, I'll "own" it for a short time, then pass it on.
