I got my first brass kit era Mantua 4-6-2 today! Its the Reading version. To my dismay, the last section of the boiler (between middle and fire box) is missing. Nice complete chassis and tender to boot! Will post tonight. I even a older 2-8-2! Its all metal and no tender load. It's front pilot has one plastic and one brass wheel and the boiler required parts to be mounted and the boiler is pretty bare. The 4-6-2 is sorta kinda a 4-6-4 and one day will rebuild into a custom steamer unless some one has every last little piece!

yep. just like mine! Just missing it's boiler! I do have a original power reverse assembly and a generator and the tender is nice and complete. Thanks for the photo!

| I like the detail on that tender. Looks like that locomotive is in great shape. Just out of curiosity (since I'm in the process of rebuilding an old Mantua brass loco), is the cab on that 2 piece? If it is, would you tell me how they put the two pieces together; maybe even a photo? Thanks. Barry

| I got lucky with mine. I paid almost $100 for it but it's complete, built, and has super nice paint. Ran good when I tested it.

| I got to looking at mine a bit closer and also at some instructions I found on www.hoseeker.net and it seems the cab on the 2-6-0 stays together by being attached with screws to a "floor" yoke and the cab roof. So I guess you just have to have the metal nice and straight and "folded" properly so it fits nicely.

DAMN Ken!!!!!! That brass 4-6-2, would make a GREAT starting point for a Western Maryland "K" class 4-6-2!!!!!!
I'd have to measure that tender, but it looks DAMN close tho....I bet it pass the prototype guys pretty well! Never gave that close a look to one of those before.....
NOW, to find one....
