Finally found a TYCO metal shark and it came with a powered Athearn B unit...

The four axle versions came out in 1949 and roamed the rails into the 1960's... In the 1970's they were getting scrapped or stored... a few remain in scant museums. Other's are in private ownership.
The demo's went to the E. J. & E. then to the B & O, D & H...
About 20 years of running time, these 4 axle Baldwin Sharks... 1949- late 1960's.
John
p.s. models available from TYCO/Mantua, AHM/Model Power, and lastly Bachmann. ER Models also came out with one with ROCO motors... major $$'s!
I don't have a one track mind. It depends on the turn-out. "I love your catenary!" Is that a power-trip or just another pick-up line?

Johnwould be correct! I got the plastic TYCO versions, and I think one A unit that's a TYCO/Mantua unit. AND I got a AB Set of the Mantua metal shells I'm going to be mounting on Athearn F-7 frames with those motors in them along with flywheels!
AND to add to this, I also have the Model Power models of the Sharks, ALONG with 2 differently painted, B&O E-R Model Sharks as well! (Got them in a repower trade a few years ago) I haven't got the Bachmann units yet, but I will! Something different then the always made F units.........I'd like to see more "unusual" units to be made as the "cowl" units but....... EA?????? Those be AWESOME in B&O passenger livery!
