Saturday I took my Pennsylvaina C430 out of the box to admire it and run it a few times around the track. Today as I am about to put it back In the box I can not find the insert. I ask my wife has she seen it and she says she has thrown it away and the trash ran today. I visioned myself choking her before I snapped back to reality. Now I have added a real lock on the door to my train room....Women, can't live with them, can't keep then out of the train room!

well go out & get some foam inserts & trim them to fit inside of box

Some people just don't understand the importance of things as simple as a box or even the insert. When I was younger my little brother got an HO engine (LifeLike, I think). Rather than simply opening the end flap and sliding the engine out, he ripped the box clear in half to get the loco out. Granted he was 8, but it still baffles me.
On a slightly brighter note, romcat has had good look reproducing box inserts out of cut up pizza boxes. It's not your original 60's cardboard, but it will at least protect your engine

| Busss, I'm usually not a box guy, as a matter of fact, I amassed my collect so fast because I have gotten mint trains that were not in the box. I plan on displaying my TYCO and Manuta collection in a display that will take up my whole train room. With that said, I have a few that will stay in the box, my Presidential C430, my clear F-7, my chrome locomotives, I also have 7 - 10 locomotives that are still sealed in the original shrink wrap, and my Pennsy C430 was going to be. I know this seems stupid, but the insert was with this train since the 60's and I have it less than a month and now its gone.

That's not silly. You intended to preserve it, intact. 45 years or so, and then....
Your not the only one for this to happen.
I had my dad's voltmeter. The thing was older than me. Kept it for years. One day I decided to have a look and maybe see if it still works. Dropped it on the floor.
