I have a Royal blue 2-8-0 locomotive that I haven't ran in a while and my layout is equipped with Digitrax DCC. Does anyone have any ideas as to how I may repower my loco with a new motor that may be equipped with DCC so I can run it again? Let me know what I need to do. I'm in the process of remotoring my ALCO 630 high hood--Chessie with a Bowser chassis with DCC. Hopefully I can do this with the 2-8-0 too. I also have a Clementine 0-8-0 that would need the same procedure. Thanks for your help!

I'm in the process of using a Mantua motor and driver axle/drive gear from my Mantua 0-4-0 in a Tyco 2-8-0. You'll have to re-do your tender as I'm not not using the original. You could always use a CDROM motor in place of the place of the original Power Torque if your any good with a die grinder. The first idea requires alot of cutting and filing and grinding and if properly equipped, can be rather easy. The 2-8-0 will have a metal smoke unit and once parts are removed and shortened, it can have the empty holes filled with lead.
