Took some more pics of what I got at the Timonium, MD show last weekend.

Above, I'll post this first here, as this was the last item I bought on Sunday at the show. Found it in a box for $10. I think it'll make an excellent F series DCC engine for when I want to swap road names around and have a generic engine base to use, instead of multiple engines. Not sure if this is a F7 chassis or not, though, wish Bachmann would put part #'s on their stuff so we could tell what the heck it is later. Sheesh. Anyone know?

Above, I believe I've id'ed it as an AHM Rivarossi E7. I bought a bunch of E7 shells a few years ago, and have been searching for the engine that fit them, I think this is it, as the fuel tank stays on the chassis and is not part of the main shell. The others I have are all like that. I have Amtrak, B&O, and some others. I tried it last night and it moves smoothly, although the motor tries to escape the chassis when the shell is off. But was quiet and smooth running on my 24 inch test track.

Above, I found 3 of these vanderbilt shorties by Roundhouse, and at $10 each, I though worth getting all 3. Not sure where I'll use them at yet, or behind what, any suggestions?

Above, another Playart find, an 0-6-0, is all there in fine shape, $5 I think it was. I have a thing for Playart diecast cars and so I am collecting the trains as well. This one looks near mint. I know they don't run well, some of my other steam engines jump and buck badly. Oh well, I'm not buying them to run at the moment.
Still have more to take pictures of, just haven't gotten to them yet.

| Looks to be a chassis from an early Spectrum FP40...nice haul.

Your E7 is Roco-made, sold primarily by Model Power and for a short time by Con-Cor (although the Chessie paint most likely makes it Model Power). Zero in common with Rivarossi, but that motor was used in their FA, Shark, and in the Atlas O-scale F9. It's a decent one, 7-pole rather than 5 if I remember right.
It's missing a plastic hold-down clip for the motor, but a dab of silicone gasket maker will probably do the job just as well.

Ok, I was going by a website auction post, so guess that was incorrect. Thanks for the additional info! I guess the missing hold down explains it's sparking, as the motor sparks jumping out of the chassis, which is ground for it. Which means I'll have to isolate it anyway if I DCC it. Hmm. Not hard to do, probably. Well, gives me something to work on. Thank, lvrr325.

Jerry you know now that your E7 is a Model Power locomotive. The reason that the motor leaves the frame with body off is you are missing a black plastic strap made to hole the motor in place. The locomotive is made by ROCO in Austria. frank
