I'm finally starting on my long-delayed modular module project I thought up. Some years ago I collected these plastic side panels off PCs my company bought to strip, and I thought they'd make great concrete parking lots, airport tarmacs, and other types of similar scenery due to their pebbly appearance and I can paint them any color I need. I have 3 HO modules I bought from a train club member some time ago, I brought one back out of my storage building recently, so set it up on the Hot tub and got the panels I'd also brought back. Looks like I'll have plenty of room for the 5 and 7 inch track set-back. I intend to install a front "lip" of wood molding to hold the panels in place up front, the backboard will hold the backs in place, too. With this type of construction, I can make a dragstrip, airport tarmac, car parking lot, etc. which is easily removable and stored in a more protected manner.

Another recent find was a green doormat with a realistic grassy look to it, this one from Ollie's reminds me of the British maze gardens. I'd love to find just a plain flat green doormat, but haven't yet. Anyway, this looks like an excellent candidate for a train-watching park. Put some picnickers out on it, some benches, etc. I have some ideas. :) Hopefully this year I'll turn my ideas into modules that are usable and displayable. I need to get involved more with my club's modular shows.
