Here is my haul from the Greensboro NC train show. Not a lot of stuff, but right now my wants are not that great. Mainly a couple of items to replace missing or damaged childhood items, and three more Tyco operating hoppers to feed my Operating Hopper Addiction! I had a good day!

Excellent prices on the B&M and Virginian hoppers - $3 apiece! Even though I already had 3 B&Ms and probably a half dozen Virginians, at that price I couldn't pass these up! Nothing broken on them either, but no brake wheels (which is normal), and the B&M is missing one bay door, but that's ok.
Nothing broken on the Reading hopper and it has its brake wheel and all 4 bay doors - a good deal at $5 I think.
$3 on the Union tank - good for one in the box.
$5 each on the caboose and Sealand flat - about average I think.
$3 for the Varney/Life Like NYC flat.
I'm planning on going to the Hickory show too. The Greensboro show is relatively small, but had some of the dealers I see at other shows, and featured N, HO, and O scales, some art and literature, and a couple of specialist dealers, so it was still fairly comprehensive. A club layout next door was also open to the pubic.

I think I have both versions. I'll have to check when I get a chance.

How was that show from a dealer's standpoint? Busy? People buying stuff?
I did one here on the 24th and it was unbelievably dead.

The show was fairly busy; saw a lot of money changing hands. It wasn't Mardi Gras crowded but more than once I had to wait for someone to move before I could look at something. The show started at 10 and sometime after 12 I had a dealer I'm familiar with tell me he had been able to sit down only once since the show started, he was that busy. I also saw several people with youngsters in tow buying trains for them (the youngsters, that is). That's a good sign for this hobby of ours!

Not a bad haul Glenn!
I got a few of those Silver Virginian operating hoppers, myself... sadly, mine are destined for what you don't want to hear.......... custom painting!
Like the Sealand container flat as well as the Union 76 tanker!

I already got mine, it won't hurt my feelings if you alter yours! Besides, during the time of my childhood when I was collecting new Tyco (1975-80), the Virginian roadname was all Tyco offered on the operating hopper, so there are too many of them anyway! Most of those should have been lettered for other roads to start with; you're just correcting a manufacturing error! Now on the other hand, if it was a Brachs, you an' me'd hafta fight!
