Has anyone ever use the u-joint kits from NWSL? I need a set for a special project and wonder what y'all had to say.

Which kit are you considering? The kits where you make the dogbones with lengths of 2mm shaft can be quite useful, like in the Y6b repower I did some years ago.

The universal sockets are quite small, though, so I don't use them for diesels where you need a deeper socket in order for the trucks to swivel. They have a set with a 1/4" socket and an adjustable dogbone that's better suited for them.

Nice clean work on that set up Nelson, hows that motor run that articulated?
Justin, I actually have brass U Joints, I'll have to get pictures of, but VERY like those in automobiles! I don't use them, very often! Good parts tho.
Nelson, were those as a kit very expensive? AND what part number where they?

John, it powers the Y6 just fine, but I also installed gear reduction kits (33% reduction), so I don't know if it would have enough torque with the original gearing.
Here are their universals: http://shop.osorail.com/category.sc?categoryId=42
Here's the set I used, tho they come for various shaft sizes. http://shop.osorail.com/product.sc?productId=854&categoryId=42
This is the variable length set I prefer for diesels. http://shop.osorail.com/product.sc?productId=857&categoryId=42

Thanks Nelson! So, with the gearing, it runs slower? That be cool as the Y class for the N&W, never moved much over 20 MPH anyway!
BUT that means, I got to ask what the gearing was? you have a link to know which it was that you used?

It's the 33% reduction set: http://shop.osorail.com/category.sc?categoryId=73
The regular set is a 60% reduction, which I thought was too slow.
