That's amazing. To freelance something like that takes some mechanical chops.

Any other info? Who built it and when?

I'm just blown away with the amount of machine work it took........... then to see the mechanics.....That reverse lever had to have been fun!

THEN, the cost of all that damned brass! WOW! A small fortune there, alone!

hi all, this is all info thats available, ken
1940-50's Scratch Built Unique Solid Brass American Live Steam Locomotive 4-4-0

Will need some restoration if wanting to fire it up,
as most of water tank seems there but some parts are missing,
one of grills is missing to front of loco,
i am sure there are some other issue's here & there but on the whole in good condition.

measure's 11cm from across outside edge wheel to wheel
lovingly built by a master engineer circa 1950 based on an early American Locomotive
i am unsure which one but item does have serial number which could lead to actual loco.
Made from solid brass & copper this item weighs in at 11kg approx 24lbs.

Weighs approx 11kg
measurements approx: 72cm long by 21cm wide by 26cm at highest point.
