Here's a repost of the Royal Blue I got at the LHS a few years ago. You can see the price I paid on the box. Got the caboose, too.

Heh, guess I was on a black kick last weekend. Or Seaboard-inspired? At any rate, another NIB find from a different relative hole-in-the-wall:

Man, it's hard to believe Rivarossi's U25C tooling is almost 50 years old, because it still looks great! Dated in some obvious ways of course, but still respectable. Place actually had a selection of all the roadnames NIB but was charging more for L&N. I wanted the drive for an undec dummy I plan to custom paint, so this worked out... I can use SBD as a run-through unit.

Thanks, Brian.
Tony, nice find. That tooling does stand up well today, especially the trucks. There's a Yahoo group devoted to a repowering project for them by Kaslo Shops, which offered a whole new frame & drive, etched brass details like walkways and see-thru grilles, etc.
Then a few weeks ago someone posted this announcement:
After years as a supplier, Korea-Brass is starting its own line of high quality plastic models with the announcement of its HO Scale model of GE’s U25C. The first in their new KBM Lineup. These locomotives have never been offered with this level of detail and realism in a plastic model ever before.
Looks like they are to start at $190 for DCC ready.

Probaly a third showing of my mint Royal Blue steamer. Came from MicroBuss:

Now I broke away from the RB theme, a $18 buy from eBay with mint decals, original paper work and all the railings!

One of my favorite locos, it is an blue box Athearn SD40-2 painted for GATX. It has been in storage for around 10 years I think, and still runs fine! Just got around to adding the handrails and horn but I still have to add the couplers.
