This was not originally mine. It might have come in a T-10 set box I was given or it might have come from a bunch of other train stuff I was given.
It says Mantua on the bottom and is made of metal. It has loop couplers. It looks ike it might have been hand painted and may have originally been red. Inside it is silver (bare metal).

not as far as i know,i always thought the tyco bobber was plastic bodied,,but i am sure someone will confirm ken

Tyco's bobber is a plastic body. If I ain't mistaking, your's pre-date's that era.

I got one too But it says TYCO & has Mantua on the bottom
 & mine does have the old loop couplers I'll cange one of the to a "normal" coupler eventually How did these loop couplers work anyway?

I have some of the old loop couplers myself. I think the 2 loops latched over each other.

| ben yours is the tyco version from about 1960,plastic bodied,and the couplers have a hook above the loop which latches onto other cars loop ken

I would say 1953 to 1955. TYCO roadname only appeared until 1957 and loop couplers were gone by 1956.
