My father just got a set of 3 ho cars that say matchbox railroad. They are black and silver. On the bottom they do say Mantua. He got a caboose and a boxcar with sliding doors and a tank car. they are built well and heavy. Id like to know how rare they are and if this was part of a set or not. If it is id really like to complete the set for him. I will post pics tomorrow. Any help will be appreciated.

The Matchbox train set by Mantua defines rare! Just ask catfordken, he traded 2 cars from the flat car for another steamer. The cars you have are part of this set. Get ready to dig really really deep in your pockets!

hi royal blue the set you refer to is one shown below,and was released in 1995 in usa,ken

I want one of these sets Or just the boxcar & I'd be happy 
Tho I would like to get a undecorated boxcar & put Hot Wheels on it
