I'll be there. I like the new venue...easy for me to find, free parking, lots of places to eat and a used book/music store nearby. It's over an hour drive, but there's enough to make it worthwhile. The old venue was closer to downtown KC, and I don't really know my way around there too well, plus I'm not a big fan of big cities. This is more of a suburban area....nice place to visit, glad I don't live there.
The show itself is a mixed bag. Some years it's great, some just so-so. Two years ago it was packed with dealers selling vintage Lionel, but I didn't have much money. Last year I went in with some cash only to find not much to buy other than T-shirts and mugs for the kids. You never know.

| Ugh...I may not get to go. Car broke down the other day. I think it's some kind of electrical issue. Who knows how much that's gonna cost.

| Well the car wasn't as bad as I feared, so I'm going to the show tomorrow. I'll post a report tomorrow night.

As promised, here's a report. The show was pretty good. There was a lot more to see this time. Several operating layouts in many scales, plenty of vendors, and an amazing carnival display that I should have taken pictures of.
Prices seemed a little high, but they always are at this show. There's another local show where you get the real deals. Also with this show there always seems to be more new and high-end stuff...fewer of those under-the-table boxes I like to dig through. But it was a lot of fun for me and the kids.
I only made two purchases. A locomotive that I'll show in LOTW next week, and a Lionel Chessie caboose for the kids.
The only bad thing I can say is that it seemed a little disorganized at first. The line to enter backed up quickly, leaving people standing in the cold. There was a LOT of complaining going on about that. It was also kind of weird that at 10 AM, right when the show opened, they had signs everywhere begging for $1 and $5 bills and asking for exact change for the admission. Seems like if they were prepared, they would have change on hand--especially at the beginning of the first day. I've been to this show over the last few years, and it's always hit-and-miss. This one was pretty good overall.
Another cool thing is that the local news was filming and my daughter made it onto TV running the kid's train.

B77 - every Great Train Show I've gone to asks the same thing & I think it crap anyway Seriously Any of you have a garage sale & have change? I do The later train show I went to in Denver just after Thanksgiving never asked for that
