Does anyone have an Ideal rotating beacon? It is an Ideal tower with a red and green beacon at the top.
Is there a trick to get it to operate? Mine lights up, but doesn't rotate.

I have no idea on the beacon, but I thought of you the other day at the LHS because he has 2 Ideal houses for sale on consignment. There's a surprising amount of detail on them, plus lamp terminals on their cardboard bases.

Does the beacon itself have vents and the bulb a dimple? If so, it takes a draft to rotate. Lionel's #394 didn't have a motor, but, others like the #494 did Ben. Its actually a vibrotor.

I think it is supposed to vibrate to rotate, but it doesn't. Just wondering if they really worked at all. I like the look of it, but I wish it would rotate!
