This week I'm going to start out this with an unusual submission - a Caboodlebug. LOL. I've been wanting to make a powered HO car for fun, and at the last Timonium show I picked up some damaged cabooses and a Mantua? Hustler chassis, and found the shell is a darn near perfect fit...the rest, as they say, is history. I modified the clear window insert shell, and it now clears the motor magnet. It runs VERY nicely, I need find a way to secure the body to the frame, and put some couplers on the chassis. Probably going to put a small light on the "cab forward" section as well. Anyway, enjoy this unusual "engine", hope to DCC it and use it at club shows.

The long carbody on the short wheelbase resembles a trolley. It just needs some end platforms for passengers to jump onto!

That caboose shell fits right on that chassis real nice. This is a project I am working on. It is a modified Bachmann K4 boiler on a Mehano 2-8-2 chassis.

My ambitious project is to take this old Rivarossi 0-8-0 which was just a frame with all the running gear torn apart due to wear and the tender in pieces. I sold the boiler many years ago because I never thought I'd ever restore it....Well, I am now Repaired the frame, cleaned the rods and valve guides, repaired 3 of the 4 wheels and painted them, not the tire of course. However the damage to the 3rd wheel is to severe for it to be used...there's a huge hole in one side of the wheel! I have a guy lined up to purchase a new wheel from, then I will take the geared axle from the broken wheel and put it on the new wheel. Then after all that all the rods will be finished and connected. All of them are now but obviously not the 3rd wheel which is out. 3 new cover plate screws, new tender trucks and that's it so far. Next up is like I said the new 3rd wheel, purchasing a brass pilot beam and cutting off the old one with has no steps Then I got a trade deal working to aquire a new boiler for it! This will have been my biggest project when finished!
here she is as of yesterday. Sitting on seperately added track inside my Seybold Locomotive Works shop

Mine is a LNIB Rivarossi "Big Boy" 4-8-8-4 UP that I picked up last Sat at the Allentown, Pa train show.
The battery in my camera is dead or else I would post a pic.

Sean, I've always wondered about this model! (I am a Yellowstone LOVER!) so.... whats the drive look like if its able to come apart or is......I'd like to see what that looks like. I had lost a friend that was part of the design of that model so.....I got some inside insight from him before he died 2 years ago!
