Guys, I attended a train show with my club, the Concord Model Railroad Club, and took my B&O EM-1 to be put on a rather LARGE modular layout, that had a 1,000 FOOT mainline! The show was at the McKelvie High School in Bedford, New Hampshire....Was a GREAT time, Saturday was "Model Railroaders days, assembly, AND fun running to assure the layout was properly engaged for the Sunday showing to the general public, was a no fee only donation show to boot!
All ran WELL on Saturday, Sunday was the issue, we had WAY to many locomotives, for the power system they used, each block of power, was only 3 AMPS, so it limited run time and how much run time you done.......Being said that, I can say, I was privileged, being I had the largest EVER locomotive to openly run on ALL 3 modular layouts! And run smoothly without issue! The main line had 30 inch radius curves, and some "off shoots" had less then 15 inch radius but these were not for mainline use!
So, with the video's I got, you'll notice at times the EM-1 will "stall" as this happened when a 4th locomotive crossed the district, and shut down that sections power.....Other then that, I had fun and the EM-1 got to open its power and stretch its legs for a change!
Enjoy!
