OK, crazy idea once more. could a Tyco C430 shell be fitted onto another likable and better quality chassis? I seen a video and some one took a C630 shell and fitted on a Bowser/Stewart C628,but, to expensive! Its gotta be something like a Athearn, Bachmann and have AAR side frames available.

You're better off using a CD-ROM motor and remotoring for dual powered trucks.

Actually Justin, & Rus, Those C-430's would fit a Athearn GE UboatC frame! Notice I said "C" frame. Use B type AAR trucks and the frame would have to be milled, to fit alittle. I might have to do a "How to" on that one...As I have a few spare frames, and before hand see if the Athearn motor will fit inside the shell first before I ruin the frame!

I have posted pictures of a CN C430 on a Bachmann Spectrum U boat chassis in the last couple of months. Somehow it ceases to be a Tyco in this configuration.

| When fitting an Tyco shell on an Athearn frame / motor use the newer flat sided type. The older round gray ones can hit on the shell sides.

I'm fitting my TYCO C430 to an Overland (?) chassis. I'm really not sure of the maker. My loco has the Hi-Ad trucks used by the Seaboard Coast Line units. I'll either use the Overland trucks or modify to use my Tiger Valley Hi-Ad frames. I'll try to post pictures, but don't hold your breath.
I was thinking you could get AAR sideframes from an RS3. Didn't Athearn make such a thing?
Unspoken expectations are premeditated failures.

One of my club members has taken a C430 and mounted it on a Bachmann Chassis, I have pictures and videos of it from the Timonium show. He's also got a Tyco 2-8-0 running DCC, but it was missing the front boiler cover. I'll try to find those pics of the 430 and post them.
