Saw this on Ebay. Currently (Oct. 7) it's listed as: brass 0-4-0 switcher. Who made it?

Thanks. I usually go to HOSeeker before I post something here. But, as usual, I got bogged down looking at all the other stuff. Posting it here is much more fun and easier.
If I knew I could get a drive axle/wheels, I'd bid on it.

Well guys, I'm sorry to have been bidding against ya'll several times! I'd intersted in such a locomotive, and wanted to take a stab at this particular one, but I have that bad feeling they run like my AHM RS2 (blender).

I think they run pretty smooth, just fast. They have 5 pole motors and shouldn't grind like old Mehano AHM 3 pole motors.

Nelson's right. Runs great and some what quiet for a open framer! I own one like I have stated. In fact, here it is:
For $15, I couldn't go wrong and I didn't!

The Lil Minner is a ATT little engine. it isn't a 0-4-0t. it is a 2-2-0t. Only one axel drives. Barely pulls it self. A conversation piece. The plantation by Kidder is a 0-4-0t. The lil miner is 2/3 it's size. The best thing I know about this engine is that it dont need a whole lot of numbers. Number 1 will do. * I hope you like it Sean. frank

When I was a kid a friend of mine had an ATT Yardbird 0-4-0. As I recall it was quite speedy, but smooth running. These motors are much better versions of those found in some of the Aristo-Craft New One models.

Nelson, A modified yardbird came in mt ATT CP passenger set. Instead of a step front pilot , Mine has a cowcatcher. If i remember right when you bought the yardbird new for the 14.95. both pilots came in the box. one on and one spare. * I never compared which one,s ran better. the aristo with the vertical shaft motor or the ATT. frank

Frank, I remember when you got that set, but I didn't get a Yardbird, much less for $15. The only one I know who got a deal like that was Justin.
One of your buddies was selling an 0-4-0T a while back, but he wanted $70.

When I got this set I thought all was Ok. There was no test track. $40. seemed a good price. When I checked the loco. Motor worm gear wasn't engaging drive gear. Brass frame was bad. Tried soldering and just couldn't get it right. At my friend Charlies house. Looking throuhgh trains found the one I got. So now my set is almost complete. I need a part for a passenger car. I sure I will find a parts car. * Photo shows original 0-4-0 switcher. Second photo new loco. Notice the different smoke stack and domes. frank

Frank, I remember we were talking about the bent frame at the show. Too bad it was a total loss.
