Scored this old girl on fleabay tonight. Gonna use her for passenger power, nice spoked tender wheels, high steppin drivers and a halfway decent paint job. I am planing a can motor job, lights and touch up the striping. Cant wait till she gets here. Probably wont get much done till winter settles in, busy putting a Petter diesel engine into my garden tractor. Mike

$142 and some change plus shipping. Less than most anything else decent in plastic steam and so much easier to work on. You should see how much fun I am having taking an Athearn Genesis 4-6-2 appart to replace the split main axle gear! Crappy quailty stuff, so supprising for Samhongsa, who built these early Genesis steam locos. I have 3 more Mikados to do eventualy for another local modeler. Mike

Not a bad price at all. And yes, those Athearn Mikes were a disaster between the axle gears and lack of balanced weighting.

I am now looking for the next model to buy in the under $200 price range and brass. I am looking at a LMB NYC Hudson, IMP/Takara Wabash 2-6-0 both painted and boxed. I really would like to find the old AHM Brass 4-4-0 or the LMB version, both very similar to LS&MS engines and all ending up as part of the NYC. Seems those early brass 4-4-0's dont turn up very often. There is an unpainted version of the above model on fleabay right now if anybody wants one, its at $46 bucks right now! Here is the link if someone here wants to try and win it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ho-Brass-4-6-0-Lake-Shore-Michigan-Southern-RY-/221133548678?pt=Model_RR_Trains&hash=item337c962c86. Although be forwarned, I may bid on it as well. Mike

If anybody is interested in this model, I may resell her once I get a chance to go thru it and relube and clean it so its ready to run. I would be asking what I gave for it sans shipping costs that I paid. It does have its original box as well. Thinking I am probably going to concentrate on NYC 1940 era. If you have an interested, PM me. Not going to put up a classified yet since I dont have it in my hands yet. Thanks Mikie
