While waiting for my wife to pick up her drugs at the pharmacy this week, I ran across a neat item called Cookie sticks. They're rolled paper, to put cookies or candy on to eat. I got to thinking maybe they'd make good cut raw timber for flat cars or other scenery involving logging. Anyway, had to stop by the Wal-mart again tonight, so I bought a pack in the Halloween supply area for candy making, 20 sticks that are 8 inches long, and a bit over 3/16 diameter. There are lengthwise striations in the paper, which to me would look like realistic woodgrain when stained. These are bleached white, but would take stain I"m sure.

They have a purple label on a clear package, with the name Wilton in the corner, SKU 70896 20179 , website is WWW.Wilton.com, made for Wal-mart. Hangs on a peg. I'll take some pics of them and post them later.
