I'll start the week off with a recent eBay win. Came in the plastic case with the hand rails, still have to install the rails.

The last known / catalog Alco 430 for my collection turned out to be rather elusive... I finally found it while on a recent trip at a hole-in-the-wall hobby shop. For $3.00, mint with all the handrails but one. As it turned out, the lone spare 430 rail I had was the missing one!

Anyhow, the Illinois Central Gulfless 430 is harder to find than you think. Glad to finally have it... and now my 430 set is done. I think :)

Spiderj and a6m5zeronsen,
Your Alcos are great. Notice they both have the same markings on the trucks, slanted lines under the springs that later MU2 Alcos don't have.
a6m,
Yours has the hard to find nose herald.
Mike,
Sweet Mantua lash-up.

Ken, LOVE those PA's, and Eaglerock, same goes for that Bell System switcher. I've never seen that one before. I have the earlier one in yellow and dark blue, but that scheme looks like the Bell System's revised logo & colors from the 70's. Too cool!

This si my LOTW:
It is a custom kit-bash of a Bowser 2-10-2 Decapod chassis, and long haul tender and an early Gilbert American Flyer boiler shell. There have been several details added it it really looks great! I think I plan on listing it this week, but I wanted to show it off first. I purchased it off of the owner/curator of the NYC RR museum in Medina New York two weeks ago. Just now getting around to opening the several boxes of trains I purchased from him. I paid a lot more than i would have normally, but I think it was going to a worthy cause.
ps: Great Pa1/Pb1 set Ken!
@ Tony, Man I wish you could sort through my junk diesels some times. I am sure I had that Alco at least a couple times.
@ Eagle.. That Bell unit is pretty cool!

I'm going N gauge this week, guys. Bought this off a local club member selling an estate, I like the Euro electrics more and more, he had this nice vintage Arnold, gearing is crude, but it runs nicely, like a souped up Hustler! LOL! Needs some lube to quiet it down some, but otherwise a nice vintage piece.

Good choice microbusss! They are good looking locomotives and lend very well to nice detailed modeling.

Well now for my LOTW! Imagine that!?

Then.......*Sigh* I got a few to catch up so, as I did with the COTW posting, I'll pile the locomotives I have for the LOTW here as I did the frieght cars!

A BLI CSX CW60AC......Well I got it as a shell, and fuerl tank, NO FRAME, for a whoopin' $12.00! SO, I made a posting for the Athearn C44-9W or AC4400 frame, this is why....And this is what I did:

and then a fellow member and I did some trading for these:

Those are also BLI "Roller Blade" trucks to go with the AC6000......
This BLI AC6000 will NOT be powered! (I choose to make it dummy) to run with my MTH SD70ACe, so I would not have to mess with the DCC or well DCS that the MTH has in it.....
Then I got these locomotives for the LOTW:

MORE to come!

Ben, This might be true, to the 4-4-0, HOWEVER, if I'm not mistaken, its a Mantua design that TYCO got from the other brother.....The Tyler brothers.
